Somebody that I used to know

I am really obsessed with this song at the moment. My friend @caoimhetracey linked it to me on Twitter at the start of December, I loved it but kind of forgot about it until another friend put the video on Facebook a few days ago. Been stuck in my head and it’s just so addictive. Haunting and beautiful!

I guess it’s about someone who meant everything to you just becoming someone who you used to know. A heart breaking phenomenon.

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
And you didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know

  1. I’m sure you’ve already seen this but, in case you haven’t, you must!!

It’s pretty much more famous than the original in my part of the world!
You’re living in Ireland? Very cool!!! I tend to spend my Monday nights at the open mic night of an Irish pub 😀 Have met some pretty cool people there! And tonight I’m going back to see some Irish guys I met there a couple of weeks back perform. I’ve also done Irish dance for 8 years and my mother is fiddler in three different bands! I think our family might be slightly obsessed with the Irish… Perhaps it’s to make up for the lack of it we have in our blood.

    1. Thank you, someone shared this with me on facebook when I posted my love for the original, it IS fabulous. Yeah I was born here, I’m at University in Belfast at the moment. Where are you from?

Wow, you sound more Irish than me 🙂 Open mic night sounds fun! Thank you for the comment!

What do you think?
